Abstract: This is the history of the west Slavic people from Rhine to Vistula during late antiquity and the middle ages. The total work contains several thousands of pages distributed among four books. This is a German translation of the first book, which was written in Polish and which is concerned with historical records about Slavic people in antiquity on the current territories of the Bundesrepublik Deutschland ("Germany"). The work indicates that it is not the Slavic people who are the riddle to European history but it is the Teutonic tribes whose origins should be clarified and which should be searched for in Asia.
